Cean Na Beinne

Where the Mountains End and the Ocean Begins

ABOUT

Cean Na Beinne

Your Scottish Escape Awaits

Set on the remote northern Highland coast, this historic stone cottage sits above Ceannabeinne Beach, with uninterrupted views across pristine sands, pink-hued cliffs and clear Atlantic waters. Behind the house, Beinn Ceannabeinne rises steeply, enclosing the cottage within a dramatic, elemental landscape. The cottage stands alone along this wild stretch of coast, surrounded entirely by untouched landscapes.

Dating back to around 1820, the cottage is the last remaining building of the former Ceannabeinne Township. Carefully restored, it balances contemporary comfort with its original character - thick stone walls, a deep sense of history, and a feeling of quiet seclusion that is increasingly rare.

Surrounded by sea, mountain and sky, it is a place shaped by time and nature, offering a slow, restorative escape in one of Scotland’s most unspoilt coastal settings.

To Book

To Book

Ceannabeinne Cottage is a self-contained Scottish longhouse by the sea, sleeping up to four guests and offered on a weekly basis.

The stone cottage unfolds in the traditional Highland form, its rooms arranged in a quiet, linear flow. At one end, the kitchen sits solidly in place, gathered around a traditional Aga, now converted to electric — a dependable presence for shared meals, soft warmth and slow mornings.

At the centre of the house, a calm double bedroom offers rest and retreat.

At the other end, the living space opens upward into a vaulted ceiling, filled with shifting light and grounded by a wood-burning stove. Here, screened from the main room, a private sleeping nook has been thoughtfully integrated into the space, offering bespoke, handcrafted bunk beds with full adult-sized beds.

Throughout the cottage, uninterrupted views stretch across the pale pink hued sands of Ceannabeinne Beach and out to the open ocean, where weather and light lend a different character to each day.

For those drawn to staying longer, extended stays of two weeks or more are welcomed, with reduced rates available by arrangement — time enough to settle in fully and experience the quiet rhythm of this place.
